Still, to believe in these miracles is not enough. To make mascara for eyelashes work miracles some knowledge and skills are needed.
It’s not that easy to choose mascara that suits you. There is a great variety of mascara brands offering products of different quality. You can act by the rule “the higher price you pay the better quality you get”; still this rule is not always helpful when it comes to cosmetics, as individual response is the main factor of its effectiveness. Choosing mascara for eyelashes should be purely individual. Experts, friends, magazines, ads, can give you some hints, but to learn which mascara for eyelashes suits you, you can only by looking closely at reaction of your eyes. They can “reject” an expensive mascara from elite producer, but will “like” mass market production and vice versa. And this is not the problem of quality. Mascara can contain all the needed components, but your organism can reject it. Allergic response can appear even because of one component. For instance, to prevent growth of microorganisms, special preservative agents are added to mascara. These agents, in their turn, can lead to eye diseases.
Consider the following hints to judge on the quality of mascara for eyelashes:
- It should not flake off and stick your eyelashes together;
- It should not “bite” your eyes;
- It should not have caustic smell (the latter means that mascara contains too much solvent).
Do not forget that retention cycle of new mascara is three years. Do not use mascara for more than four months – various bacteria can grow there, effecting your eyes.
Below are some tips on how to apply mascara for eyelashes:
- Before applying mascara, powder eyelids a bit. At the same time you will powder eyelashes, as a result, they will become long and bushy. Powder is your make-up base;
- Apply mascara in several layers, curling and combing eyelashes;
- Apply mascara from the very roots to tips stretching them a bit towards the external tail of your eyes;
- Do not try to do anything with your eyelashes when mascara has already dried up. Your make-up will flake, regardless of quality. You should get the results when mascara hasn’t dried up yet.
